Hello everyone,
I have got an issue with Seat Ibiza and was hoping that someone would be able to advise. The car is 2009, 1.4, 82. The issue I have is that when driving with lower speeds and lower rpm, the EPC light comes on the dashboard and gas pedal becomes inactive. It seems that the car goes to some sort of an emergency mode and only goes with low speed regardless of how much you put your foot down and keeps the rpm at 1500. The engine does not cut off and you can still move. After turning the engine off, take the keys out and wait few minutes, the light disappears and back to normal. The car is used mainly on A-roads, 25-30miles a day on average. This issues started about a month ago.
I cleaned the throttle body located below the air filter using cleaner fluid spray specifically for this. It did not appear to be very dirty and did not look much different after cleaned. This did not resolve the problem and the EPC comes on. I was advised to replace the throttle body but not convinced. The car had full diagnostics done about a year ago and no errors or issues.
It would be greatly appreciated if anyone has come across similar issue and if you can help with advise as to what the actual problem is and how to resolve.
Many thanks in advance
