New AmD remap and I'm disappointed...

... with my low expectations!!!

I am MEGA impressed with the remap and the service provided by all at AmD and especially Ben for his correspondence over email.

I had considered a Celtic Tuning remap as they are the closest to me (Glasgow, Scotland) but was concerned that they were claiming a mighty 225bhp and 217 lb/ft from a simple generic file install.

So I fitted my Forge 007p DV and made the journey down to AmD Essex.

I also had the Pipercross panel filter fitted at the same time to give the remap the best opportunity. And after dropping my car off at 0830... 2 hours later it was ready to be collected!

It originally dyno'd at 184.4bhp and 181.7 lb/ft which was quite nice to see on an 03 plate Cupra running Momentum 99 and sitting on 65k miles.

After the remap the figures read as follows:

205.7bhp and a staggering 246.9 lb/ft of torque!!!

I was well impressed and my drive back to Scotland has never been as good (except for the first time I picked up my R33 GT-R spec...).

I'd just like to say a big thank you to all at AmD and my Cupra now wears a small black AmD sticker with pride!
I'll see you all when I need an exhaust system and stage 2 map!

Glasgow to Essex for a re-map, you're mad!!!

Yep
I had a stage 1 take my Ibiza Cupra MK4 from 180bhp to 223bhp and 260ftlb of torue and I paid £260.

After I did stage 2 it was mapped again and pulled 253bhp and 270something ftlb again.

Whilst I'm sure your happy with your remap you would of got similar or the same results from a local trusted mapper and would of saved yourself about £300

Did you have your car RR to get those results or are those what the remapper claimed?

Also I sound quite bad, I'm not complaining.
If I could afford it I'd probably go AMD but I dont think I'd drive all the way! Its along way :D
Aslong as you enjoy the results and use them thats all that counts!

Why did you part with your GTR ??????

After 2 years of ownership... 2 engine rebuilds, 1 complete new engine, 6 new turbos (2each time) and an average of 12mpg it really had to go lol!

As much as I loved the car, the handling, the sheer power (nothing I have driven since has compared!) it was just the wrong time financially in my life to own it.

It ended up with a race prepped engine, 2 Garett GT28 ball bearing turbos from Owen Developments, Bilstein coilovers, a full de-catted Fujitsubo titanium exhaust etc etc... it was an amazing bit of kit. White on 18" Rota GTR bronze alloys... the V-Spec model too!

I will have another haha!

Heres a little clip after I had one of the rebuilds...

both companies are well known to the scene VAG scene. Mine was mapped by R**** and i have had no issues at all with it and Nick made sure all is good and i left with a massive grin. Will from PTorque is also well known and lots of peeps recommend him too and there is Stealth Racing nearby, Mo and I will vouch for them.
