Hello all,
Just picked up a lightly used Leon FR 184. The 'grateful' part of the title of my post is explained thus: my last car was a hybrid Yaris so you can imagine my delight.
I commute around 40miles a day into suburban London but had bought that car just before we moved out to Herts from West London, it all seemed to make sense at the time! Needless to say, after a year of very careful and economical driving I'd had enough. I reckon on average I had about 60mpg over 14k miles. Not a fair comparison but I've just been to Sheffield and back and averaged nigh on 60mpg without really trying and certainly not keeping my speed down.
The catalyst was a friend and colleague buying a Scirocco with the 177 tdi engine. A couple of drives in that and I was on the lookout for a new car. SEAT made sense for looks and cost. My local garage cocked up the order of a used one from central stock supplying the one next to mine on the list. I didn't fancy the look of that so haggled over one on the forecourt and ended up with my rather alarming Alor Blue number, it had a higher spec than I would have ever order new so I'm pretty happy. Far, happier than straining along in that miserable Yaris...

hello!
sounds great - loads of people like the colour, and you don't see many. It's a GREAT engine.
you can get some really well-specced cars on forecourts; what have ended up with?

Yep the colour is growing on me. I ended up with (in no particular order): tech pack of Nav LED headlights etc, LED interior lights, sound pack, convenience pack, driver assist stuff, leather seats and other stuff I can't remember. It also had the titanium pack but I've swapped the wheels for standard 17s to improve the ride and tyre cost in the long run. By accident that gives it quite a nice look now with the contrasting mirrors.
