Hi all,

Just picked up the below Cupra R with 33k on the clock and I have to say it is so much better than I expected, in pretty much every way :D awesome car :) it feels like a much newer car and is somewhat ballistic, which raises a question. It feels like it will obliterate our 8P S3, at 7k rpm it's really starting to pull hard which surprised me in standard tune. Is that normal? I've not come across any sort of rev limiter either... apologies for the dark pics, but you know what it's like when you're excited...

I've had lots of "performance" cars before, including M3s, 400+ bhp Nissans and a lots of hot hatchery in between, but I get the feeling I am going to love this car. Plans are pretty simple at the moment, probably a trip to Rtech and a quaife at some point to assist on

Steve

I'm guessing I can't post any links to images (on photobucket) until I've posted 15 times?

Regards pics I'm sure you need to have done 15 posts before you can upload

Thanks guys  the car also came with two sets of nearly new tyres which is nice, the winters were excellent on the journey back :)

HI. Of COURSE it shouldn't be that good. You're not supposed to enjoy driving these days.
Take it to a dealer and say you want the "less good" package added...they start with de-grinning the driver and work outwards from there.

Quite. I don't know what I was thinking, the whole new car thing probably made me giddy and remember the good old days. I will get the "less good package" forthwith and remove this ridiculous grin from my face. :D

In addition, do not, at any time, remove the parcel shelf , lower the back seats and listen to the beast trying to escape when you accelerate. Do not, ever, test the limits of traction . No. Do not, ever, take it to Wales. Particularly the Evo triangle. Never take it to North Yorkshire. For example the road to Whitby from Malton. Do not giggle like a maniac when overtaking. In fact, do not overtake. Sit on thumb tacks, that will remove the grin from your face. :D
