Hey all,
Just picked up an 06 TDI FR only 3 months old in Black Magic
Very Quick!
One slight problem though.
The electric mirrors do not work,
also the electric folding door mirrors do not operate,
Are folding mirrors an option? as it may not have them. How would i find out?
Could this be a fuse? if so which fuse would it be? Number 18?

Appreciate some help

Thanks,
James

I think heated door mirrors with electric folding are now part of the 'Convenience Pack', so they might not be on your car.

There should be a mark on the adjustment knob if you have them. Mine has got a mark for the heated position between the left and right mirror indications, but no folding position as they don't fold electrically.

Welcome to the forum, by the way.:)

Hi

the marks are there for the heating / folding so i assume the car must have the convenience pack, the electric mirrors them selves do not move / work but when moving over to heating i hear a click as if the heating is turned on.

Thanks for the swift reply

you push the control knob forward to the front of the car to get them to fold and if they are heated this will mean you have 4 symbols around and l an r heater symbol and another one cant remember what it is though!
welcome to the forum by the way

I have the four symbols yes, no head lamp washers or CC though, the problem is even the standard electric mirrors do not work not just the folding, i suspect fuses at the minute, any idea how these are numbered on the car?

if you lok at the fuse box, when you remove the pannel there will be a crad with symbols on it and numbers so you should be to find it that way

fixed it.... was fuse number 11 (5amp)
the small fuses are numbered top to bottom
fuse was the 3rd one to the right
says in the book electric mirror power fuse
Electric mirrors fold in a treat, and adjust spot on now.
Thanks for the Advice,
James

its got 7500 on the clock so not a brannie, will keep my eye on it though,
managed to drop a fuse down below the fuse box somewhere as it slipped out of my hands!
they are a pain to get to.

ah no that will drive you mad i bet if it stays in there rattling about lol try opening the cubby hole under the light switch and then pull it right out past its normal travel then you can get in behind and may find the fuse !
ps the pannel is supposed to come out it means you cant access the diagnostic port!

oh i see so the panel will come fully out... i will have a look in the morning when there is more light, but by then i may have lodged it even further in because of the pure accelleration!
