I'm considering buying a new Head Unit to replace my Aura tape. Having read s_purs thread the Alpine CDE-113BT sounds like a good bet, but as I know nothing about ICE i'm open to alternatives.

I'm after something with built in bluetooth, if possible one that can handle multiple devices connected at once and if possible AUX input & USB. No plans to change speakers or add a sub at the moment either and as I mainly listen to Rock, Metal and Reggae so something with decent bass would be good.

The cheaper the better the really, but if cheaper means crap sound/build quality I'd rather pay a bit more.

Cheers :)

I've got a Pioneer unit, can't remember the model but it's got Parrot hands free bluetooth, reads off a usb stick, can control an Ipod and cd changer and take an external auxiliary input. Was about £160 Probably the best unit I've had and I've paid a lot more than that!

Sounds like a good choice! Have you got any pictures so I can see if I can find which model it is?

And im after the standard tape deck just so hard to get.
Have you tried breakers? I'm sure there would be loads there.

It's a Pioneer DEH-7100BT. It's a discontinued unit now but pretty heavy on features so you might grab a bargain somewhere. I just like the way the USB is on a connector from the rear so nothing plugs into the faceplate. Looks neater than it all hanging out the front!

Easy to navigate through a USB stick with the double line text display. I've got an A4 sheet with all the albums listed, bit organised I know but it helps me find a particular cd. Or I just give it to my passengers for them to choose!

Thanks mate, I may see if I can find its current equivilant :)

now you have the 2011/2012 catalogue of Alpine, and have the CDE125BT for less money than the CDE113bt of 2010.

i think is the best option.

i have just fitted a kenwood kdc8141, it has usb and aux, both mounted on the back, and built in bluetooth i have feed the usb lead down to my ashtray and fitted it in there, so there is nothing on show.

Got it down to 3:
Pioneer DEH-7300BT
Alpine CDE-125BT
Kenwood KDC-BT51U

I think I am leaning towards the alpine unit as it seems to have a bit more going on, would like to try and listen to them all if I can.

I assume I will need a fascia plate to tidy up the dash? I am considering fitting this myself but I am useless at stuff like this!

I have the pioneer one, good quality the blue tooth is amazing really clear stero is set for mine and wife's phone but you have to change manual from one to the other

Back to the original 3 - spoke to JVC who told me the ability to connect 2 phones was limited to pairing 2 phones at once, so the shop I spoke to told me crap! Glad I checked that out before forking out £150.
