You need to get the paint 'cut' to remove a fine layer of oxidation etc. This will leave a layer of fresh paint. Best way to do it is with a rotary machine polisher, but you need to be really careful with it, and don't go too hard on it as you will burn the paint. Alternatively, you could try some Autoglym super resin polish on it depending on how bad it is.

The boot spoiler on my octavia was nearly white, but the SRP got it looking loads better.

i have to say i really prefer it to my golf tho more responsive and got the leather seats and stuff. just a shame about the fading, any chance a paint shop could mop it to bring it back or am i just better off trying to do it my self with maybe yellow t-cut?

Welcome to the ovni club lol, mine will be ultimate green in a few months, deciding factor for me was when i tryed to get paint matched for facelift front bumper that is sadly sitting in my yard, so ive started prepping it for a full respray

You'll never get it to match without a respray :( sorry to say it but if you go at it with a machine buffer you'll probably take the paint off I know a bloke who will respray it in the original (ovni) yellow for £620 but it's in Swindon ;) I make no profit from this what so ever well might get a beer but nothing else ;) lol

The facelifts were bought out in 2003 and had a rounder front bumper

This is mine which us ore facelift ;)

I solved the spoiler part by taking it off and spraying it gloss black till i get the roof and spoiler wrapped in carbon fibre vinyl

I wasted many hours using t cut and colour restorer. It's all a waste of time, the paint fades under the lacquer. Respray is the only cure.

I have a yellow LC and it has faded, a good polish with Autoglym super resin polish will make it look a bit better but you will have to do it on a regular basis

No it won't if you try to hard to restore the colour you rub the paint off all the ovni yellows are the same even the ibiza's, you need a full respray end of.

I didn't say anything about restoring the colour, yes a full respray is the only way to 100% solve the fade but a good polish will help protect the paint and give a more even shine

Maybe you should read up little more on the Autoglym range

Use Autoglym Super Resin Polish on good condition brightwork and other metallic surfaces, i.e., wheels, instead of using a metal polish which may be unnecessarily abrasive.

Remember, the topmost layer of your paintwork is the strongest and should be preserved as far as possible. It is better to polish 2-3 times using Autoglym Super Resin Polish to restore the finish than to use an unnecessarily abrasive paint restorer.

Your not getting what I'm saying mate don't matter how good the stuff is you polish it to often you'll rub the paint off, you push to hard while cleaning it and you can rub the paint off I've seen and done it I know about the autoglym range and use it my self but if you go to hard for to long to often on the ovni it will be White

If you do polish it be gentle and don't do it to often that is all
