Hi all!

The other half has just purchased the COPA limited edition which seems a fantastic car / spec for the money / offer!! The dealer had pretty much the exact car inc options she would have ordered! Just waiting on DVLA for a plate transfer then its bye bye to the MK4 sport and hello Candy white Copa!

Anyway just thinking of getting some accessories / mods ready for when we pick it up.

FR Grille - About £48 what are these like to fit?

Gloss Black Mirror covers

Uprated bulbs - I read that 2 x Canbus LED's for the inners and 2x normal white 501's for the outer ones? Correct? Then H7 for main/dipped beam?

Iphone Lead - I'm told either of these are perfect and avoid the SEAT £80 price tag:

or

It has the TOMTOM sat nav port which we probably wouldnt have chosen if we had ordered direct but because its there we might look at using it, I see you need to buy the cradle from SEAT but which tomtom models are compatible?

We usually just use Nav on the iPhone.

The car has the convenience pack too, does bluetooth work ok with iphone? I know some cars are a bit of a pain to get to connect with iphone!

Any other advice on cheap OEM mods etc? :)

Thanks all!

Congrats on the purchase mate and you seem to have most mods covered. Performance not worth it on the engione you have but I would suggest lowering it as it looks like a tractor but that just about covers it.

Thanks mate, just looking at headlamp bulbs what K rating are you guys using?

I have 7000k in my astra which are quite blue but not great at lighting the road. She wants something with the crisp white / blue tint HID effect but that still gives good vision?

I see ultra bulbs tend to be popular on here

The grill mod is easy, two plastic rivets at the top and then ease the old one out, there are two "hooks" at the bottom which might cause a few swear words, you'll see what I mean when you get your new one, but be careful and go slow and you'll be fine, when you order the grill order a couple of spare rivets, that WILL save some swear words when you drop the little bu**ers down inside the engine bay!

As for the Tom tom thing there's a couple of threads on here already..... I had to mod the cradle slightly to fit a xl live one....

Before you lower it, go through your mind about the height of all the curbs on your street :)
I know that if my car were any lower I'd have damaged it by now when navigating through the tiny roads filled with parked cars - not to mention when I park with the car on half the sidewalk since there's no room where I live.

You need the TomTom One V3 or V4, AKA IQ Routes. The same bracket suits both. There is also a bracket for an even older TomTom.

Trouble is, even the V4 is going, or has gone, obsolete. I bought a refurbished One V4 from TomTom but if you do that beware that the map may well be out of date. I complained to them and they gave me a map upgrade.

Some people have modified the bracket to suit newer models; you can find the info. if you search these pages but this does require some skill with tools etc. Also I'd guess that brackets to suit newer models must be on the way.

While the bracket does only supply power it is very handy - no trailing wires and when you stop and leave the car you can just lift out the TomTom on the bracket and put both under the seat. When you do this remember to close the little cover over the hole - I forgot once which was a bit of a giveaway!

Congrats on the new car, shame you haven't got it yet :(

FR grille can be a little tricky to fit but you'll get there in the end :)

For lights, you should buy some Ultra side light bulbs, will cost you around £8 for x4 bulbs, gives a nice white light and no error bulb on the dash! The high and low beams are H7

Cheers pal, the missus is getting a bit frustrated with the DVLA now! Cars been sat there for 3 weeks since we paid the deposit but still no way of chasing the DVLA up!!!

Oh well lets hope the paperwork appears this week!!

Already have a pile of goodies ready to go on :)

Good 'ol DVLA. They will be quick to fine you or crush your car under the new insurance rule but god forbid you need them to do some thing for you................................

Still nothing through the post yesterday!! Oh but my tax reminder has arrived OK (Suprise)

The dealer is getting as frustrated as we are, obviously they want our P/X to sell on and the longer it takes the more miles we are clocking up on it! (Think its done 1700 more than when they valued it now)

Oh well lets see what postman pat brings today.....

Thats crap you've had to wait so long :(

Should look good with all the mods though, just be patient with the grille. Took me forever to pull it off but after a while and some scraped thumbs it came off lol.

Cheers guys, we're picking it up late morning tomorrow whilst trading in her MK4 sport. Plan is to get some decent products on it tomorrow afternoon, perhaps a polish with autoglym, 2 stage guard-x followed by a wax! Then get some pics sorted later on!

Hope for dry weather tomorrow!

May also get a couple of the extra bits we have bought fitted too, just don't want to break anything on day one lol!

We are coming to the show on Sunday in it too, hope to see some of your cars there and get some more ideas!

Blimey I sound so excited you'd think it was my car not hers!!!
