Hi, I'm new here so forgive any stupid questions.
I'l start with telling you the car I'm thinking of ordering, it's a new factory order:
SEAT IBIZA HATCHBACK 1.4 EcoTSI 150 FR Technology 5dr
Metallic - monsoon grey
Titanium Pack – Ibiza
Bi-Xenon headlights with adaptive front light system + headlight washers
Rear view camera
Ambient lighting
Total Price of £13830.00
Seems reasonable, but I can't find much information on the newest version of this car.
Does the new suspension actually make a difference ? Or is the ride still very firm?.
I don't live close to a dealer to test drive so need to travel, the problem is they all seem to have the older version pre new suspension and steering.
Also we have 3 small children, anyone with kids got this car? If so is it suitable for everyday family life, or is do you recommend something else?
Finally what are people thoughts on the car, good and bad, reviews online are inconsistent with some websites praising it, others slating it.
Sorry for waffling on bit I appreciate any help with this

First question I have to ask is how you managed to get that spec when the starting price is £16,995 without the Options.

Secondly have you been given a delivery date as Seat seem to be delaying and delaying orders at the moment (I ordered mine in August and still waiting).

Thirdly when you say new suspension are talking about the driver profile? If not and I am sure someone will correct me on this, but most of the changes for this facelift have been cosmetic (except for the use of the new VW eco engines).

It's through a broker, but if I go ahead I will be put in direct contact with the dealer, iv also got it in writing it is a new factory order.
Iv been told 12 weeks but won't get a definite date till I place the order.
From what iv read online, the newest facilities model has new interior features aswell as new power steering and suspension tweaks to improve the ride. Il find the link if I can.
I can't post the link but it mentions it on the carwow review of the ibiza.
iv also read elsewhere something about the steering now using a motor and not hydraulics, and it's much improved.

In my opinion the differences in the changes a manufacturer claims are worth very little in real life unless a car was proven to be a real pig in the first place !.The FR is the more sporty so will feel different to a non sporty model, so if the firmness is a concern look at another model, and as an example I brought a 64 reg FR estate with panoramic roof, pdc and dark glass for £10500 with 500 miles on it,so basically brand new just pre registered, and similar deals are still around as they want to move the stock.

I'd say you would struggle with getting 3 kids in the back unless they are younger than 10 years old. While there are technically 3 seats in the back. They are 3 very small seats. In terms of leg room it's not too bad, its just the size of the seats. I don't have kids though, but everyone who gets in the back of my car complains about the seat belts being under there bums.

I'd honestly look at a Leon if you're wanting to get 3 kids in. Granted, you won't get a Leon FR for that kind of money new, but at least the kids will fit.

The kids are one, three and seven. And I'd only be keeping the car for five years then was planning on something bigger. Most of the time I work so would only be two of the kids in the back. As soon as I get time off I'm planning on going to a dealer so will look at the leon aswell. Thanks for the advice.

I wouldn't pay much attention the lead time they give you! I have ordered the new ibiza FR and was told i would have it by October the 20th. Still waiting on the delivery of the car now! i have been told its built but personally i don't believe them! Huge delays!

I can back Coopers up on that, I had the latest call yesterday and apparently week 47 (build week) is not this week but next week, but the rest of Europe is this week.....I am starting to think that any FR's will be lucky to see this year personally.

Have they given any reason for the delays? How many weeks back was the order placed?

What i was told was that then build date remained the same and the actual delay was due to the transport of the vehicle?? around the 15th of august i ordered mine.

23rd August mine was finally placed, I was told that the delay was down to the factory building FRs as from week 46 onwards and not at the same time as the other models?
