Jet wash it well thats what i did...not on the car though and leave to dry you can buy proper cleaning stuff though.

I use a airline from the inside on mine.

Believe it or not, my girl friends fiesta st went up from 151 ( down on what I was expecting ) to 164 bhp on the rollers by cleaning the air filter and resetting the ecu.
Twas filthy mind.
