Would you mind briefly explaining what it is and which one you got / why, please?

Anti lift kit

It replaces the standard consoles that the control arm mounts in to at the rear with a console that has a polyurethane bush. The new bush is also offset, it actually forces the wheels a little further forward. The purpose is to stop the front end lifting so much under acceleration to reduce wheel hop, wheel spin etc. One of the best mods you can do for fwd handling bar LSD etc.

Did you write it? If not, I hope you're getting commission!

No, just do a lot of work with it and its good to share stuff that works.
VCDS you will see a lot and thats a good tool but cost a lot more money so only for guys who do lots of cars in my view.

And there are lots of OBD11 Tools if you just want to see error codes and get live data.

^^^ totaly agree, cupra14 check out this thread http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?p=4659899&highlight=anti+lift#post4659899

The MK3 has a fair amount of power but once you start doing mapping its gets very interesting.

Tyres are very important and there are a lot of threads here about what are the best, but they are not cheep. Then you get into the anti lift, engine and gearbox mounts. If you ever go stage 2 then you will also need to start looking at intercoolers as these engines run hot to start with.

But that is the joy of these cars (MK1, 2 & 3)

Ahhh... thanks. I'd read the wheel hop thread (a bit quickly) and not spotted the anti-lift, let alone figured out which lift was meant.

A new (to me) meaning of "console", too. That was part of the dash area up to now!

Thanks. I'm very used to OBD II (including dealer-level diagnostics) but not on any VAG car so to some extent only the standardised stuff (yes, live data etc) feels familiar.
