Hey folks, picked up my Leon last night! It's a 2006 Stylance 2.0 FSI

Low miles, good condition! Enjoying it, I would have liked the FR or even Cupra but I couldn't justify the expense at the moment due to flat move etc!

Although slightly worried already...

As the Average mpg is showing 32.4mpg - this was after driving for 40 minutes at a constant speed of 70!

It was taking ages to go from 24mpg, 26mpg etc!

This morning on the way to work, which is a mix of A and B roads, I saw 27mpg by the end of my 25 minute journey :/

This is from granny style driving as well...

My only thought is it must be due to the cold weather at the moment? (-2 , -3 was showing on the outside temp sensor).

Orrrrrrrrrrr have I made a big mistake buying the 2L FSi and thinking I can get 30-35mpg

I don't own one but from what I have heard from other people on this site they ain't very good on fuel but I drive a tdi so I wouldn't know the true figures they achieve.

As spoken about many a times...
I've got the a late 2007 2.0 TFSI.
I CAN get 30+ mpg over longer motorway journeys. Realistically I'm looking at a max of about 27 (see my Fuelly average below :)). But that's because I like to have a bit fun too (responsibly).
Irresponsible fun leads to 20-24mpg.
Totally ragging it has gotten me as low as 17mpg.

Strange - I had a MK5 Golf GTi which was a 2.0 T FSI and it was DSG so even worse fuel than a manual as autos suck with mpg, yet I generally got 32-35mpg.

Admittedly that was in the summer though.

I'd have thought the 2L FSI (it's not the turbo version) should match at least OR better that).

I won't really know until I see how many miles I get to a full tank, so far it is on 3/4 and I have done 120 miles.

Auto's are not better on fuel... Trust me! :D

Yeah it's the 2 N/A FSI (Manual) and so far I have got better mpg from a 2l TFSI (Golf MK5) and a MK4 1.8T (and several Ibiza Cupra's i've owned in the past have all been higher mpg!)

I have a 2.0FSi Reference Sport

I can say that on an A/B road drive, I have at times acheived 38-40mpg (usually on my way to work)

I regularly return 34-35mpg

However, I also have 22-25mpg days, when I stick my foot down a bit, (contrary to popular belief, keep this engine revving, say between 3,500 amd 5,000rpm, and it can pull pretty well)

I couldn't stretch to the price of a FR TDi - I also had a MK4 Ibiza Cupra TDI and it was the worst car I have ever owned - it was a noisy, rattly engine and drove like a tank. So that 1.9 engine was out of the question for me.
I also only got about 20-40 miles more than I did from the Petrol Cupra MK4 which was years apart in comfort!

So if I had to get the diesel it would have been the CR 2.0 version but that was out of my price range.

I don't mind if it's 32-35mpg, but I was just saying that when I see 26-28mpg on the MFD it didn't seem right... I guess I won't really know until I see how many miles I get to the tank, as the display could be wrong or slow to update.

I know if I went out now, and turned the car on and went for a drive, it would start at average 18mpg, then slowly creep up, and it wouldn't be for at least 15 minutes before I saw 30mpg and that's driving at a gentle constant speed.

I got it for a good price though and it's still low on miles (19k for a 2006) so probably still loosening up! :)

Ok well it wasn't as bad as I thought, I think the trip meter is a bit slow to update!

Basically I got 350 miles, before I decided to fill up, and that was 50 litres so Im guesing about 31mpg overall.
