Hi there.
Firstly I must just say how impressed I am with the new leon.
I collected my TFSI earlier today and can't complain about a single thing, performance is great, looks are great - really pleased, especially as it was the first time driving the TFSI - when I ordered it back in September all I could testdrive was the TDI.

My only problem is that it only comes with one remote key fob and I could really do with another for the wife, (the other key is not remote - just a manual key).

Does anyone know how much it would cost to get another remote key made up from the dealer?

any help much appreciated.

Im not sure mate, but i think someone said its close to £100 quid just for one for the ibiza, so im guessing its gonna be along the same lines!

Wow - thought it would be a bit expensive but thats pushing the boat out.

Maybe I'll get the wife one for her birthday! until then looks like I'll be the only one driving the car. :funk:

thanks for the reply

I bought a spare flippy remote key for the wife. The cost of the key was £106 all in which included key + vat + labour for programing it to the car. It took about 4 days to arrive from order and 30 mins at the dealers to program. I did get a discount off the price off the key as i ordered it from the dealer i bought the car from. I hope this helps. :)

dont ever ask for a peugeot 206 one

local dealer just quoted mother in law for a new remote spare key and blade all programmed and ready to roll

guess ....

£312 inc vat

im told latest Ford ones arent much cheaper

these ones that come up on ebay - can they be reprogrammed to another car?

Its mainly just the body of the unit - then you need a new blade and reprogrammed.
Is it possible? They go much cheaper....

My old boss just bought an FR after dribbling over my LCR for the last 18 months :D

I know how to check whether a key is right or not for a new model, and when I tried to explain how to open the key up to check the part number code and frequency by flipping the key out and using a screwdriver to split the 2 halves he looked back at me a bit blank.....

So, anyone on here with a new 3 button remote able to post the full part number etc? Will then be able to have a dig around on ebay and see what turns up - almost certainly the same as late VW remotes.

When I bought a replacement flip key for my Passat off ebay I got a new blade, cut to suit, programmed immobiliser to car and sorted the remote locking all for £10 from a local car security specialist. No need to rip the immob chip out of the non-remote key

A friend of mine who has a new A3, ordered a remote key from Germany, and it cost him 175€.. i guess it'll be near that for León..

BTW, is there any chance that i can use Porsche Cayenne remote instead of the Seat's ? I need another remote, and i'm thinking to order the porsche one. I heard all the VAG's uses the same key cut and electrical system.
