Hey all

I bought me my first seat yesterday, a second hand 2005 Seat Leon 1.6 Sx and was hoping someone might be able to help me with a couple of things around the working of the stereo (i have the manual, have read it all, but hasnt helped ):

- It wont play the CD i created. I burnt a CD to listen to on the way to work this morning, but it wont play it. The display just says track 1 all the time. It doesnt ask for a code at any point, but the seller did give me a code for the stereo although i cant find where to enter it. (that said, the code contains a 0 which isnt a number represented on the keypad)
i should add here, i can listen to the radio fine

- Apparantly the stereo supports AUX in so i can connect my MP3 player - there is no line in connection on the front. Can anyone offer any advice on how i connect this up?

Thanks to anyone that can help

Lev

When you come to enter the code (you don't need to unless it prompts you to do so), you press the Prog key to start and finish entering it, and press the 1,2,3,4 keys multiple times to change each of the 4 digits - so you don't need a "0" key.

I think there are several different variants of the Aura unit, and the manual (and even some of the labels on the keys) refer to things that are not on every unit. Similarly, I've seen some mention of headphones, but mine has no headphone socket.

Hey

thanks for your reply. I actually looked up someone selling the stereo on the internet and have verified the picture they have is the same one as i have. There doesnt appear to be any additional connectors on the front of it which mine doesnt have. unfortunately i cant post the link here as i havent posted enough yet. However if you do a good search for 'Auda Cd' its the first result on a site called cdchangeremulator.

So im not asked for a code when i turn it on, so i guess the next question is...are these stereos known to have any issues with CD-Rs?

ah yeah, its an MP3 disc now i think about it. Just come straight from my old car which had an MP3 cd player
I guess this is the problem

So....i guess now i HAVE to figure out how to get auxillary input working

I use an aux input but it uses the connector on the back of the headunit where the multichanger plugs in. SO you can only have one.

Thats fine with me, i dont have the CD changer so have space for the AUX. Is it easy to access whilst its installed?

As far as I know the Aura does not support an Auxiliary input, only the CD multichanger. You can get aftermarket modules to add an auxiliary input, but as MPJ says they displace the multichanger.

Alternatively, you can get short-range FM transmitters which will work with the radio receiver. A bit clumsy, and you have to use the mp3 players controls to change tracks.

right, i understand now. thanks for all the info. Ive used the FM transmitters before and the sound quality is really bad, so dont want to use them.
So is there anywhere you can recommend i can pick up a cheap auxillary input connector, or failing that, a cheap MP3 disc changer (im sure the auxillary will be way cheaper :) )

Thanks for the info so far
