Hi all

Been browsing the forum for the past week or so as I am thinking of joining you in Ibiza ownership. I currently own a Scirocco GT 2.0TSI DSG but have a new job that has seriously increased my mileage. Thinking of the FR TDI as I have liked the Ibiza Mk5 since it came out and nearly bought a Boc before I decided to scratch my Scirocco itch first!

I have learned loads on the site so keep up the good work. Test driving something else on Thursday but expect to be ordering a new FR very shortly.

Cheers

John

John,

Where abouts are you based? If you're in Grimsby did I speak to you today?

Danny.

Welcome to the forum mate and if you're increasing mileage then the FR tdi would be the best way to go, best of both I say hehehehehe

Welcome mate. I have read some test about these FR tdi.

Great engine, good power figures and low consumption, the new vag common rails are smooth, no same punch if you are comparing with old ones (tdi), but same or best top speed and less consumption. The car is not too heavy for this engine, the figures are good :)

Good choice. Cheers!

The FR TDI is a very nippy car easyly keeps up to cupras/boca's and still gets good mpg while hammering it :) , ive owned one for nearly 6 weeks i love mine just debating getting it mapped now or wait till early next year till the cars got a few more miles on , after 1500 miles on the clock it felt alot nicer handles well too not too crashy suspension wise either , i easyly achieve the mpg stated in the book and then some at times its all down to how its driven

Not me Danny. I'm an Irishman based in Scotland!

Cheers pal. Attempting to be semi-sensible for the first time in my car-owning life! I think the FR is a good compromise!

Thanks Viktor. Most of my driving is motorway so I don't need the same acceleration power as I have in the Roc. I test drove the FR the other day and found it plenty quick!

Sounds great bws, cheers!

Ahhh, it was weird because I guy asked about my car at work yesterday who was thinking about getting one and he had a White Scirocco GT, didn't know if it was you, such a coincidence haha :)
I test drove both FR's and the Cupra, whilst the TDI FR will have great fuel economy, it just didn't have that punch I was used to from my Leon TDI FR, but with a remap am sure they are very fine cars!
