Firstly thanks to everyone on the forum for the posts that I've used in the last few years. Now joining to share my experiences and ask some specific questions.
Having had an Ibiza ST 1.2 and Leon ST 1.4 I've recently bought a 2015 Leon ST Cupra 280.
Bit of a step change but loving the tech and trim and who doesn't like some power on tap however unnecessary. It's a family car really but may take it to the ring to tick it off the bucket list. I like to keep my cars clean and tidy and prefer the stock/sleeper/subtle look so looking at 'downgrading' the externals a bit but nothing drastic. It was noisier than expected though so so far:
  • Added sound insulation to boot/sills and doors.
  • Wheels aligned
  • Minor DIY vinyl wrap to badges.
  • replaced broken front panel liner
  • switched to 18" rims (and new tyres).
Still too noisy but will discuss this in separate posts.
Hope everyone's had a good Christmas.

Welcome to the forum (as a member lol)

The 280 is a beast, easily get 370bhp out of just a stage 1 Remap with no added hardware.

I always thought the MK3 Cupra was a sleeper already until you start adding diffusers and splitters etc.

You may like the idea of getting yourself an obdeleven (android phones only currently I think) or carista for ios as these help you change little things that maybe turned off but functionality is there.

Enjoy the car have a a great new year.

Cheers

Thanks. I am indeed tempted by Obdeleven but need to read about the relative benefits of Carista to decide which. I wish I'd had that with the old Leon so could have specced it up a bit - doesn't seem like there is much more to turn on with the Cupra already being highly specced.
