Hi, as the title says I'm a new owner from the West Midlands :)

Recently bought an 03 plate Leon Cupra R, always had an eye for them and I absolutely love it! I was originally looking for a sensible runabout, but let my heart rule my head and went on the hunt for a Cupra R :D I convince myself it's a good choice as the mpg is way better than my summer fun car lol

As it's my daily I wanted a totally standard unmodified car, which I'm starting to realise I've failed at. After having work done to fix some issues and boost leaks, my mechanic and I have come to the conclusion that it's far from standard :/ Info we think we have gathered so far is: Engine code and different parts point to it having an engine swap at some point, it seems to now have an Audi S3 engine?!? The feeling is it's also had a remap, I have no idea how to check this, all I know is the car goes like a scolded cat! Which obviously isn't a problem! Lol But I would really like to gain some knowledge of the car with your help :)

Couple of problems that I really would like to get fixed at the moment are: Rev counter and speedo are not working, and also it has a lumpy idle and is very lumpy and unpredictable in first gear. Any thoughts on these issues?

I would really appriciate some help from any local members to take a look at my car and see what they think I've got, and also help me point me in the right direction on how to fix the remaining issues please :)

Finally a bit about myself. Owned a Mkiv Supra UK Spec Twin Turbo since 2004 and been a member of Mkiv Supra net since around that time. Hoping to get to know the Cupra as well as I do the Supra :)

Apologies for the very long winded first post :/ I look forward to any help or feedback you can give me :)
