basically one of the lads had a garage build a custom intercooler kit for his ibiza, and he actually lost pressure because of the design of the core and the pipework used. while testing on an RR, the car made improved figures with the core removed

just one of the reasons you hear "should have gone to forge" everywhere...tried and tested

hope its ok though, doesnt look too big might be just enough for what you need

The people i have bought the intercooler from are known well in the jap seen and for the pipework i copied the laguna set up, just making a few alterations so the piping can fit on the end caps

yeah but its not the quality of the cooler, its whether its right for the car!

theres been numerous threads regarding this, people just buying intercoolers and assuming they will improve performance. if it were that simple there wouldnt be so many different designs. while for fitting, universal cores are great, they offer little or no guarantee that they wont increase lag, lose you too much pressure or just wont cool your car enough.

not saying the one you have got wont work, only way to find out is to fit it an see

but to put my 2pence in theres no way on earth that would cool a 300bhp evo or skyline

quick question, shouldnt there be two sections coming off the TIP - one for DV and one for breather?

i can only see one.

you wouldnt buy an intercooler for a 300bhp evo or skyline...as their standard intercoolers are built to cope with that power and alot more.

That'll take you to the links i've posted for you. I'm not saying it will or wont work, but just points to be aware of that can happen!

ofcourse you would, do you honestly think evo/scooby/skyline/pulser owners that modify their cars use stock cooling solutions.

most of these cars (most) dont even come with front mounted intercoolers as standard.
god knows why companies waste money developing replacement kits if the standard components are fine

i can judge how big your cooler is by the LCR splitter above it. dont be so defensive, im not ripping into you just trying to make you aware. if it works you saved 350quid or so. if it doesnt, then you've wasted 250quid or so. Matt (rogers) learnt the hard way

what i was getting was that most evos come with 300bhp out the factory, or any 300bhp turbo outt the factory wouldnt need to upgrade because the standard item is more than suitable to the job

but you're right, who in their right mind would replace a standard one for the one i've got.

i'm not defensive, just giving my point of view, which on a forum does happen

I'm getting someone to do mine, but basically i have used the same pipework set up as the laguna set up, just with 2 90 degree elbows on the end to bolt on to the inlet/ outlet

As soon as i have all the pipework i'll post up a pic of it all set up
