New Project - Seat Leon 1.4L TSI Sport 2008 MK2

All,

I'm new to all this, but give me time! I'm looking for your ideas!

I've just picked up a black, Seat Leon 1.4 TSI Reference Sport 5dr Hatchback 2008.

Unfortunately cannot post pics due to being a new member!

I have a 4K budget to do interior / exterior styling and engine / performance.

I'm looking for a "sleek" look and eventually to reach 350+ BHP.

Recommendations?

Thanks all! Alex

Sounds like a top choice to me, same car as I've got and the right colour!

Not too sure on suggestions but there is certainly a lot of potential with these from what I've heard :)

Welcome to the 1.4 TSi sport club. Top choice :)

Mods, well......

Get the chrome grill wrapped, throw on some 18 inch rims. Revo remap. upgrade the I.C.E.
Cat back exhaust.

For about £1k you could get the leather FR seats from a dealer, but you might get your own retrimmed for less....

350bhp from a 1.4tsi on a £4k budget? That might spiral out of control and end up costing much more but good luck with it.

If you will push it to 350bhp you are serious gonna spend some big bucks, even with my 2.0 TSI its a big step forward and will require internals and so on....

I hope to see you progress nicely with it, need some inspiration myself :p

FR/BTCC Bumpers, Sideskirts, Spoiler for exterior, maybe a gloss black roof depending on your current colour, Interior change to leathers and fit HU and a armrest. Engine wise as above 350bhp will be alot of work and money and not worth it, would have been better to start with a better lump

Quick question. Why buy a 1.4 and try and push it to 350? Why not start with a bigger 2.0 engine?

I know most people on here don't "get" the 1.4 TSI and only subscribe to TDIs and 2.0 TFSIs but its actually a very talented little engine. A hell of a lot of R&D went into that unit and it shows in the impeccable way they deliver power and drive.

There's also the fact they are now seriously good value for money on the used market

For two reasons a) the insurance doesn't warrant the difference and b) it's a cool little project to see how much "oomph" I can get out of such a "small" engine

Thanks Andy!

Thinking of going for the Scorpion non-resonated cat back 76mm twin tailpipe.

I think I've found the Revo website - coming in at £399 for the remap. How much bhp extra are we talking about?

Big jobs broke out!

Revo is £385 all in until the end of this week.

If you send me your email or mobi on PM, I can get in touch with you to arrange for the remap. I was thinking in the next 6-8 weeks? But 100% before Christmas

I've looked through like four maybe more pages of your progress thread! Your car is looking mint! Great work!

Can you link me to some recommended websites which you have used recently?

Thanks mate. I'll drop you a line when appropriate.

So for the full suite at £385/£399 - what extra bhp etc should one expect?
