New Things you've Learned about your Leon...

So I've got my Leon on order and not long until I get it now...

I just wandered what little features people had come across in their Leon since owning it that they didn't notice it had. Things people don't notice during a test drive or in the showroom.

There were so many things, that I have discovered since getting the car, and some not even mentioned in the handbook, that I have forgotten them. Will have a think and see what I can come up with.

The heated door mirror switch is seperate to the heated rear screen, CD slot in the glove box.

Holding the unlock key unlocks the doors and the windows go down..
Holding the lock key, locks the doors, puts the windows up and makes the mirrors go in...

Unlocking the boot using the middle button on keyfob, to find it relocks as soon as you shut it. (watch you don't leave your keys in the boot)

It can?! How do you do that?

You can press the roller wheels on the steering wheel. One on the left mutes, one on the right will immediately select if your scrolling the menu or switch between the "since beginning/refuel/start" views.

Lift the lid up slowly and you hear a click at each position it can be locked to. Lift up and push down to fully close again.

Thing I discovered: you don't have to keep the key turned when starting the engine. Just twist it momentarily into the, err, crank position and it'll sort itself out.

The four small different icons on the left hand side of the infotainment screen (just below the time) that show what profile you are in, without having to press the Cupra button.

Also you can use the sat nav on the go without having it on the main infotainment screen, as it saves the last 7 used and your home, to a list that you access via the RH steering wheel buttons. (Using sat nav stops the mini profile icons showing though.) So you can start the car get on the move then without hands off the steering pick an address and it shows on the mini sceen at the speedo, so main big screen just gets left at media, radio, car etc.

Oh - the manual's instructions for the lowering door mirror when in reverse?
they're wrong. Set up for LHD drive cars. To set it up on a RHD, you set it to "on" in the set-up menu on the screen, start up, engage reverse, move the mirror control knob on the drivers door to set the lowered mirror where you'd want it to be when reversing, then leave the control knob in that position. When you start going forward it'll go back to normal, until you engage reverse again. If you don't want it to lower, move the knob to any other position.
And the mirror heating is on that same knob, towards the top setting. Not on the rear window heater circuit like any normal car.

The sound system subwoofer just isn't unfortunately, and the system generally hasn't burnt in anymore and improved...

A non woofing woofer. Downer.

I'm quite happy with it to be honest and think the sound is great (when the car is stopped anyhows). On the move I don't think the subwoofer makes a lot of difference as the bridgestones are bloody noisy and drown it out a lot of the time. Some surfaces worse than other obviously, but I can't wait for them to wear out so I can replace with some better rubber.
