In 2003 i owned a imperial blue mk3 ibiza cupra brought it standard from the dealers with 1 owner from new loved the car told myself not to spend any money on it, i was wrong after finding seatcupra.net thats where it all started.

First of all i wanted new wheels didnt like the standard ones so i went out and brought a set of 17" Dare X1 in hyper silver, these were added to the car along with 20mm rear spacers and a 30mm drop on H&R springs done by AMD.

After sorting the wheels and suspension how i wanted it then, i went down the airfilter route, first of all i went for the a piper cross that was soon removed for a dynatwist kit brought from Badger 5 which was on there for ages, then i found myself wanting more power so few phone calls later and it was booked in at Jabbasport for a chip birthday present to myself, came out of there with 209bhp cant remember the torque figure few weeks after the remap my ecu died cause by water this was then replace by Seat at a cost of almost £750 which almost made me cry.

After leaving things for a while and being back to standard bhp figures i got bored, Next i knew i had purchased a KO3S from what was A&M motorsport and also paid out for one of there intercoolers, once these were all fitted the car was once again booked into jabbasport to be remapped this time i came away with 226 bhp and 343nm of torque all this with loose turbo mani bolts and a blowing down pipe.

My new 2001 mk3 cupra.

Spent some time cleaning the car outside on friday as the weather was nice, washed and chamoised then polished with autoglym deep resin shine took my time on the polish paint work is all chipped which is usual for the age and can be seen more due to the darker colour, once all polished i put some autoglym ultra gloss protection on left it for 30 mins before buffing clean.

took a few pics after with the sun going down

First car looks spot on! Real shame how it ended...
Getting there with the new one, look forward to the exterior changes aswell!

Looking really good mate. Nice to see that out of something bad you're back in a good space. Really nice motor.

Thanx for the comment, i didnt think i would go back to a perfromance car, but my work situation changed so i thought why not, body work isnt in the best of condiction but i want to get the shell resprayed in the new year, getting the engine clean and the performance how i want it first then concentrate on tidying the outside up :D

i can remember u posting those photos up wen it happened, nice new motor tho!

I was gutted last time, ive told myself to try and make this one better nothing over the top just make it nice and how i want, and i have more options power wise with the JBS04 turbo just depends how far i wanna go with it.

Looks nice so far mate !!

How much and where did you get the inlet manifold?

Cheers

INA engineering mate, paid about 650 for it that was for the standard 60mm TB fitment, but its been made so i can adapt to 80mm if i wanted in the future going to see how the gains are on what i have before changing to 80mm if i decide to.

heres a link to the thread, Issam is very helpful, he sent my mani to me knowing i may change to 80mm which i didnt know about to make it easyer for me to adapt it.

Shame how the first car ended, looked a cracking motor. What caused the fire??

Glad you decided to get another one. Will look good when you get it all finished and how you want it. That Autoglym Extra gloss protection stuff is good stuff.

Was told that the fan wiring surged and blew the fuses on the battery got so hot melted the holder and ignigted the sound deading on the bonnet dont think it help having a vented bonnet aided the air to the small fire that had started.
Paint work isnt the best but i try to keep it clean ive always used autoglym going to do the gloss protection once a month, try to polish every 2 weeks weather permitting though, there are quite a few marks on the car, cant see in the pics but they are really bad to me.

shame about your last car, still at least youre sorted with pretty much the same thing :) i'm liking the motor, one of the best looking MK3s ive seen
