We're seeking individuals who enjoy helping others and will find fulfilment in doing so. You don't have to be an expert on particular models, although we are looking for people who can assist in that regard, too. You'd be called a Moderator (and Staff Member), which is what the software we use refers to as someone with extra privileges on the system over regular members.
General moderation - What's involved (some or all of the following)
Specialist moderation
We can't pay you as we're not a for-profit. This site and community are run by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. Our running costs are covered by our kind sponsors and donors. So the reward is the warm, gooey feeling you get from being part of our team and helping others. We had over 125,000 people visit the site in the last month.
If you have any questions, please post below or feel free to start a private conversation with me.
Cheers,
Scott
General moderation - What's involved (some or all of the following)
- Helping manage the approval queue for posts that need to be checked by a human
- Addressing any reported posts (e.g. spam or breaking of the rules)
- Spotting any spam and flagging spammers
- Welcoming new members and pointing them in the right direction if they need help
Specialist moderation
- Encouraging growth and discussions, providing specialist knowledge in one or more particular model forums (e.g. Formentor, Tavascan, Leon, etc.)
- Curating of the for sale and wanted section (removing expired adverts, supporting posters and dealing with any rule breaches)
- Ideally, you'd be able to check in most days, spending only a short time on the site, but keeping tabs on what's happening. We know some people are addicted and are on the site daily already.
