Just bought my self a mk1 tdi 130, needed something more economical than my old clio sport!

Alright ant mate, welcome along, I bet the Leon's more practical than the Clio :p
I'm just along the A69 in hexham, always up Carlisle way though, get 15 posts and whack some photos up...if I see you il give you a friendly flash and hectic wave :p

Yeah I could be up for that depending on the day, time and if am working. Should see if anybody else is up for a hartside meet.

Sweet! Well I go on holiday on the 9th for a week so il give you a pm when I'm back to see if we can sort it, make a day of it. Get a few people to head up, I know several people who will be up for it with evos, Ibiza cupras, vxrs and skylines. Be a laugh (Y)

Thanks guys..!
Yes the diesels a lot more practical ha, I get double the miles, cheaper insurance, cheaper tax and tbh I prefer the better built leon, against the cheaply built French hatch...don't get me wrong thou the clio sports are absolutely cracking cars and are very well equipped for do little money!
I picked the car up last Tuesday, wasn't planning anything really but then I fell in love with the cupra r, so off to eBay I went...bought genuine cupra r skirts and bumpers, the front bumper came in the correct colour so that is now on, rear and skirts are in the bodyshop getting painted, I then found some 18" cupra r alloys so there now on, next I need the ride hight sorting as it looks soooo high....after that ill be starting on engine mods, with a remap
Take it as I go after that

Regarding the meet I will have to check what I'm working..

Sounds like it should be good, let me know then we can try sort something.

The remap will make a big difference, I had a tdi Ibiza cupra before my leon and one of the 1st things I did was a remap and it made a massive difference.

We can try sort a meet for when most people can make it, and am going to try find out if anybody else on here is interested.

Was your remap done locally?...who around our way is recommended or is it a case of travelling ?

No it wasn't done locally, I traveled to Awesome Gti at Manchester for the remap, they were very helpful and friendly. Then when I had turbo back decat exhaust, air filter, egr delete and hybrid turbo I went to RS tuning at Leeds as they were recommended for the hybrid turbo mapping on a tdi.

Right lads iv just been thinking and July is no good for me, I'm pretty hectic with holiday, work and other crap. How about hmm say...August 11th it's a Sunday? I know it's a fair while away but it could give us plenty time to check your "schedules", plenty fuel pennies and a chance to have a look around for a few more local people? Mr k22p up...you fancy a day out? :)

Sounds good to me Liam mate! Ill provisionally say yes! Where abouts any rough ideas?:rocker:

Sick guy! Well hartside is ideal for place to meet. Saying this it might be abit out the way for you being in Whitehaven. I'm guessing you've never been up hartside pass before so here's a few things to look at. Of you've been before mate, ignore everything haha

You are a wee bit out the way but in a diesel? ;)

The roads are these... http://youtu.be/JutBFFFGhOI hopefully you know which gear to be in on corners unlike this guy on YouTube.

That pic is awesome. If we get something sorted it would be got to get a few pics like this.

Regarding the meet I've started a thread in the north west, meets and events section to try find out who is from cumbria and the surrounding area.
Here is a link,

Not sure if the link will work.

Iv got loads from the few times iv been up, was just up there on Saturday at 23:45 with a few lads in skylines, S14s and a couple focus STs But believe it or not there was a coast to coast on so no drifting then!! Erm the time iv been here iv seen a few newbie posts saying they're from over Carlisle, Kendal etc.

That link works fine mate, il have a prowl round my Facebook friends and give a few lads an inbox. Ideally want to keep it low key from fuzz and little idiots who might come up and bring unwanted attention
