Hi Guys,

I've put a deposit on a [EDITED - 2009 '59] plate Leon FR TFSi DSG. Lovely to drive, nice to back in a VAG cabin with decent seats and ergronomics. Such a relaxed drive in full auto mode, but the performance is on demand when you need it!

I've got a few questions.

1) Everywhere I read about the pre facelift Leon FR, people write that its got a really stiff ride. But when I test drove the car, I didn't think so :shrug: Certainly not as bad as a Type R. Is it that stiff or did car I test drove have low tyre pressures?

2) Having read that some engines use a lot of oil, does the Leon FR have an oil level sensor?

3) If when you drive it in 'D' and flip the paddle to over ride to manual. After driving around using the padels how do you revert it back to 'auto' mode ?

4) What exactly is DSR? I'm guessing its some variable steering assistance, but every Leon Fr I've driven has had precise but over light steering at all road speeds.

Really excited about having a turbo car again! Love the DSG transmission, makes you feel like a touring car driver!

If it's 09, are you sure it's pre-facelift? as the facelift was introduced in 09?

Seats do have oil sensors, but from my experience, they only light up when your car is REALLY out of oil, when it came on in my old car, I didn't drive it and used another car to get oil.

After a while of not using the paddles, it goes back to full auto :)

You can code the VCDS to alert you a different oil requirement levels!!

Just to add confusion there's also this:-

"Dynamic steering response (DSR) is a car
safety technique that corrects the rate of
hydraulic or electric power steering system
to adapt it to vehicle's speed and road
conditions. Similar to DIRAVI , this system
was first featured in the SEAT Leon Cupra R
and has since been used in a wide range of

any more info on this?

as for having the gear in D and switching to manual with paddles.. you can also hold the shift up paddle for 2 seconds to put it back into full auto mode or just wait 10-15 seconds or so. hope you enjoy dsg as much as i do, i couldnt live without it now :)

I've noticed it also switched back to D when you come to stop at a crossing or light.

As for the ride: I call it crashy, not stiff. Its just not very refined, but perfectly cool for daily driving. Just drove for 4 hours yesterday with the mrs and was grand
