Newbie with a few Q's

Hi All

Jus found the site today, just like to say its an excellent site with excellent info!

Hopefully tomorrow i should get my hands on X Reg Leon 1.8SE 20v, Its got 147k on the clock but i think at £1400 i cant really go wrong. or can i? I know its no cupra but i need a daily car for Uni as iv got a Individual Bmw E46 for weekends etc.

Plans Include

Light Tint All round
18" or 19" alloys
Lowered
ICE
Private Plate
Twin or Oval Exhaust

Hopefully a Full Facelift Cupra R body Kit

Now the Q's!

1: Can i just stick the Facelift Cupra R bumpers and skirts straight on or will it need modyfing? if so for the front bumper will i need different fogs or can i just use my standerd ones?

2: Can i only get 1.8se 20v Springs or can i stick any springs from a Leon go on?

3: As above with the Exhaust can i only get a 1.8se 20v exhaust or will other models fit?

4: How hard is it to wire these cars for sound? and how hard is it to get bass out of the car because i cant get nothing out of my e46 cause its all soundproofed.

5: Are Mk4 Golf/Audi a3 wheels the same fitting as the leon?

Thats it for now... No doubt their will be more questions once i pick it up.

ill ave a bash but only know the knowledge slightly to number 3: i imagine only the catback section of the exhaust will fit, as i imagine the underside of the leon will be the same throughout all models but with the 20v se not having a turbo the downpipe etc will be different. however it would be much safer to just buy an exhaust sutied for the 20se

i would imagine the springs to be the same, the cupra springs etc should fit on and be a little lower than standard and slightly stiffer but not having tried it i wouldnt want to say yes or no

I dont know what's X reg but I think it will be fine you may need a simple bracket which you could get from a dealer anyway

AFAIK only the diesel and 4wd Leon springs differ, otherwise Leon, Golf4, TT FWD should be fine

Your BM would be easier on the wiring with the battery in the boot, but on the Leon it's fine. 1/2 an hour's job.

and the leon is a hatchback. even a small sub will sound good. You may get bass rattles from the hatch trim at the top

Yes.
