Newer Key Problem!

Right... I bought a flip key off ebay and have been looking for somewhere to cut the blank key, which is a pretty rare find so far. Yesterday i went to a Seat garage to ask if they can do it and if it will work with my car, apparently they order their keys in already cut to the specific car, this is going to cost me atleast £50 for the key and then theres also a chance it might not work with my car because of my immobilizer? Can anyone help me on this that might have had the same problems but have managed to sort it out? Thanks :)

try the local locksmith/key cutters ?

immobiliser wise the easy way is to swap a working one from a spare ordinary key

all the key cutter places i've tried have said the same.. their machines cannot hold the key in place when its cutting it because of the style of key

and the only other key i have is the spare key that comes with the car and i was wanting to keep that so i had 2 keys just in case one disappeared.
