I have a cupra leon 2025 and it has problems with the auto lock unlock feature. When I approch the car it's supposed to unlock without any key press and when I leave the car it's supposed to lock in the same way. It's very hit and miss. I can approach the car and it unlockes and when I leave it's doesn't lock so have to press the key. I brought it to the dealer and they can find no issues.
I have disabled and renambed the feature to no avail. It's the same issue with both keys.

I didn't even realise I had that option. Just turned it on and it didn't unlock when I approached - I had to touch the door handle, but it did when I walked away.

Only had it a week. It's been a little unpredicable for things like this so far.

Hi, I’ve had a similar problem. The car sometimes locks when I walk away and other times it doesn’t.
I’ve had the car at the dealership garage today and I’ve been told that it’s a known software problem and that CUPRA are working on an update which should fix this, but they’ve no idea how long it might take (possibly months).

Software bugs are par for the course for all new cars nowadays. Previous car was a new Hyundai Tucson and it would frequently lose settings, like having to pair my phone every other day, or Radio presets would disappear. For 3 months the whole dashboard would randomly switch off or all the warning lights would come on and stay on.

It's been the norm for a while now - the car before the Tuscon was a 2018 Octavia which would lose bluetooth and GPS randomly and you had to reboot the infotainment to get it back (press and hold the power button for about 20 seconds).

I'm assuming that the quality control is stricter when it comes to the stuff like ECU, regen breaking and all those sort of things where bugs could be lethal.
