No trip computer

I disconnected the front display and now my trip doesn't work

It just displays exterior temperature, which is blank and always has been. But when I press the trip button, nothing happens.

Does it need a drive out to get all the info back?

my pal's cupra does this, sure on vag com it says that his outside temp sensor is screwed, he cant use fuel comp or anythin..

All sorted. Forgot to re-connect the trip wires after removing my radio, d'oh!
