Noise When Changing Gear....Mod...

Hey Peeps, Not just a MK3 query, but didn't know where else to put it...

Now, in the films "Fast and Furious" and "2 Fast 2 Furious" adn "Gone in 60 Seconds" (stick with me please..) in some of the cars, when they change gear, they get a...well a clunky noise, which I think sounds pretty cool...

What is this, why is this??

must have 10speed close ratios

just dont use the clutch, that'll get you a noise

You could always attach a heavy lump of metal to ur gear stick. Am sure it would clunk on something.

Or if you're serious, you cld go for a ferrari style gear gate and make it a bit on the small side.

Pretty sure that its a sound effect in the film!

I knew I'd get flamed....never said I wanted it, just said it was a funky noise when changing gear, sound wiked if I get it and a Whooshy Dump Valve...

I'm pretty sure its a sound effect on the films, As is the 17 gearchanges, all up!

Straight cut gears can give the same noise, plus a whine.

Do you think a Whooshy Dump Valve would sound good? I could havea Whooshy Dump Valve, a Gearbox noise, and one of them fan things on my exhaust...ohhh get the credit card out..

To calm down your flaming, think the noise was probably from a 'dog box' gear box.

Now back to the flaming lol........

I heard that dog box's bark when you change gear and the car goes really fast when it sees a cat!?!

here's an idea. Just drain the gearbox, it really does give some brilliant noises.

like mine on my 180bhp Golf GTI 16v mk2 when the casing split. Drove best part of 30miles to get home major junctions etc. with just 3rd and 4th gear available.
You should haveseen the state of the clutch when we got the box out.

at the end of the day, i dont care what mods ive got on my car because i live my life a quarter mile at a time, from the moment i lauch from the lights it just sets me free lol
