noisy interior

Has anyone else got this problem. When I drive along a road which isn't very smooth, my car really rattles inside. Sounds like most of its coming from the doors & the dash. Can anyone suggest a cure cos its drving me mad?

Ear Defenders? turn your radio up? whistle loudly when your in the car? strip it, track slag style?

mine always rattled, untill i changed the dash to a mk3 one and then it stopped

now the whole car just rattles

i think this is another common feature of the mk2

my dash rattles hurrendously at 50-60mph. never have i been so annoyed! one of my pet hates is incurable rattles.

my dash rattles, sounds like its inside the dsah board behind all the speedometer etc, i just find a good smack sorts it out for a bit.

last time i twatted my dash to get it to shut up i burst a bulb in the speedo and had to go get it replaced. i let it do its own thing now!

I had a really annoying rattle around the passenger side somewhere, and after loads of fiddling around, tightening up a bolt on the end of the dash totally stopped it. Try it at both ends. I think these kinda adjust the way the whole dash sits slightly, so it basically tightens the whole dash unit, but do not take my word for it at all.
I've still got a slightly annoying rattle around the back of the car somewhere!

Seems that everyone gets the rattle from a different place. On my old Ibiza it was coming from the dash clock area, but on the valver I get an annoying rattle from the gearstick/lighter socket/ ashtray area.

MY GIRLFRIEND IS AN ACOUSTIC GENIUS!

I too thought i had a rattle in my dash, door and window... but it turned out to be the handbrake lever, now i just leave my steering wheel lock on top of my handbrake and the sound is completely gone!!!

You only have to touch the lever to stop the rattle not lift it! let us know, she will be dead chuffed!

Used to have a Megane and on the passenger side the bit you clip the seat belt into used to vibrate and make a really annoying sound - Only thing that stopped it was to leave the seat belt fastened all the time - even with no passenger.

The Ibiza has the usual squeaks and rattles for the interior trim but turning the radio up sorts that out

i had a rattle aswell when i turned corners, when i bought the car, sounded like it was the passenger seat then i thought it was the handbrake or gear box......... untill it was up on the ramps and it was the middle section hitting of the bodywork underneath, got the guy to move it and its all sorted....
