Non Working Steering Wheel Buttons

Hi all
I have a 57 Leon FR Tdi with bluetooth which has been parked up for the weekend while I have been in Turkey.
Got back to it tonight and none of the steering wheel buttons work - stereo or phone. Stopped the car, turned it off, locked it and started it again, but still the same. Havent checked fuses yet, will have a look in the book tomorrow.
Anyone had a similar problem?
Cheers
Gordon

You might want to try it again in the dark to see if they light up. You'll obviously need the ignition on for this, as I know that when the ignition is off the buttons don't work (even though the radio still does). If they still light up with the ignition on then it at least proves that power is getting to the wheel.

Or, you could just take it to a dealer, as your car is still well within warranty....

I've had the same problem. On my 07 FR two weeks after I picked it up the steering wheel controls went down :( I took it into the stealer and they said they would simply order a new steering wheel control unit as there were no obvious signs of anything wrong. Took it back and they changed them and all was good, for 5 days and then driving down the motorway at night all the lights on the buttons went out again on me! Rang the stealer and they ordered another set of controls. It was booked back in for 2 weeks later and 2 days before it went in, it all lit up like a Christmas tree and I've had no problems ever since  No answers as to what it was, if it's working don't touch it was pretty much the attitude and it's been good since.
One of the annoying things is the horn you should find is also non functioning, an MOT failure and it caught me out the once when someone changed lanes nearly into me
I'd had a few other problems, little niggles from pick up so I got onto Seat UK and got some dosh out of them :funk:
I doubt this helps much but just so you have my experience thought I'd let you know. Be nice to here your resolution to this problem.

Took the car to to the dealers I bought it from (Robinsons at Lowestoft) at 1pm today and picked it up at 4pm with new buttons fitted and working.
I'm slightly concerned the problem will return, but certainly can't complain about the service at the dealer.

They had to order mine as said so that is good service. I too was concerned it would just keep happening but as said it been all good since so I guess until it does, if it ever does happen, why worry :)
