plymouth
today i went for a stage 1.
sadly, no before / after RR( but i did get it rolled locally a few weeks ago and plan to go back there next week)

so its an 07 FR tfsi, with 22k on the clock.
went for its stage 1, the guy said the fuel im using isnt great as its super market fuel ( he reccomended shell vpower but thats 15 miles away up the duel carrage way. i never go near it )

after the map, he said i should be pleased his test drive he said it felt great and certainly faster, more fun, yada yada.

all motorway on the way home so cant really test it, got off onto the local roads back in plymouth and well im not too certain i can notice a difference. my passenger said he feels its quicker, im not too sure.

i expected it to blow me away! everyone talks about how a map transforms the car... this is not the case :/ fml. has it just been £479 down the shitter?

I don't use V-Power however REVO swears by it...I use Tesco 99 same dif to me really...and it still makes my car run!

However I am quite surprised about your remap though? What were the results? Stage1 for me was a big kick although it was just a trial...

Forgot to mention if your not happy with it...You can always ask for a refund!

im not sure about money back guarentee with Revo... it would be nice if they offer something.
i plan on taking it for a blast tonight, there is also a road which alot of the local boys use to test their cars on so ill be going there too and seeing if there is any different between the two points.

my Timing setting is low, only 3. but it cant go higher due to the fuel im running apparently, tesco premium stuff.
i would have assumed it would be up similar betwen the fuel and boost settings of 6 and 9! using V-power would make the difference, bring the timing up and pull better.

Can't feel a difference? Something isn't right there. You should still see a noticeable difference regardless of fuel. That said, you'll never see the full potential without good fuel such as VPower or Momentum.

And before anyone says it - let's not jump all over this thread with the go APR bull without knowing the ins and outs first.

Agreed on that point had far to many of Revo vs APR threads

keep constructive to find the best solution I say

thought Tesco 99 was just as good as V-power ?

so did i... im going to let this tank empty make the out of my way trip to shell, fill with V-power and ask them to map it again next week.

real inconvenience as they are 60 miles away!

If your using 95 Ron then V-Power will make a difference, And if your using 95 Ron the car will feel pants

But if your using Momentum99 it should be fine

I run mine on Momentum99 and its been fine, i put a full tank of V-Power in the other week and felt no different and noticed no difference in MPG, a few Weeks ago i was running low so put £40 worth of Esso 97 ron and my god the car felt like cr4p, litterally felt like it had the map taken off it.

thanks for that, last thing i want is a "should have gone APR" i decided not too because of the 180 mile trip to my nearest one. and since getting the Leon i said i wanted Revo.

i admit it feels smoother when it comes on boost, either that or its not boosting as hard.

my settings are Timing : 3 (because its not vpower allowing it to be higher)
Boost : 6
Fuel : 9

Possibility you have a small boost leak somewhere? Cars making more boost but more is leaking hence why car feels no better

running fine, just not more impressive performance wise.
running fine before it went in too.

i cant see how a boost leak could occur from just getting it mapped.

I bet he thought that he was putting 95 Ron in

Another thought..... If you bought the car 2nd hand.. Was it already mapped

I just dont understand why they said Momentum was crap fuel

he asked me what fuel im using because he cant use a higher setting on the timing.
i told him i use "tesco premium stuff"
which he replied "there is better out there, use Vpower. untill then i cant make the setting higher"

my nearest shell is 15 miles away.

i dont know what to do :/ i feel gutted.

personally I think its been set up wrong, im sure that you can use the same setting on vpower and momentum

car was 2nd hand from SEAT as it was a managers car. so i doubt it was worked on before.

my mate said it feels faster, but he thought it was rapid to begin with as he has an astra estate 1.6...

the other half has just asked me to take her out in it, and ill let her drive me around too see how i feel in the other seat.

what would happen if he has mapped it for the wrong fuel ? say 95 if 99 is in it, or 99 if 95 is in it or what ever the fuels are these days.
