personally I think its been set up wrong, im sure that you can use the same setting on vpower and momentum

i am happy to drain this fuel, fill it with v-power run that tank through, fill it again and go back and ask for them to set it up again and see if they can higher the timing.

i have read (as im all over the place now looking for info) that some remaps can take a few miles / hours to "set in" ? anyone else heard this?

car was 2nd hand from SEAT as it was a managers car. so i doubt it was worked on before.

my mate said it feels faster, but he thought it was rapid to begin with as he has an astra estate 1.6...

the other half has just asked me to take her out in it, and ill let her drive me around too see how i feel in the other seat.

what would happen if he has mapped it for the wrong fuel ? say 95 if 99 is in it, or 99 if 95 is in it or what ever the fuels are these days.

The issue is you should 100% feel a deference with a 20% power hike

if its mapped on 95 and you put 99 then no problem

if you mapped on 99 and put 95 it will retard the timing i believe, wont feel as quick but shouldn't cause any permanent damage

i would have thought regardless of what fuel i have in it, with the boost and fuel settings set up i should notice some sort of difference in power terms.

nor do any harm to the car, so i would be safe to run this tank down, fill with their reccomended Vpower and ask them to set it up again next weekend on my next free day.

If your on tesco99 and your changing to Vpower the difference won't be big if at all...

It should NOT do any damage...worst case it would just into Limp mode (engine protection) :)

I'd say B7 T4 F9 on Tesco99 or VPower... I just find it odd that the power isn't that great for you :s Revo is strong remap!

being strong / agressive is the first thing that bought me to revo. i wanted somethind that id notice.

T3

B6

F9

just double checked my settings he gave me. he said with vpower he would expect the T to be somewhere between B and F.

Sorry i meant in an emergency, ie low on fuel nothing else available, stick a fiver in and top up ASAP with the good stuff :)

i would purely go for Vpower to be able to say it has what they reccomend in the system. and then continue to use 99 momentum. if it makes any difference, for the worse ill have to keep vpower in a drum at work. ffs. i just want to feel a difference to be happy with.

limp mode i can deal with! for a short period of time lol.

taking the other half out now, so ill wait untill i hear what she has to say about it.

she seems to think "its just you being silly and too used to the bikes power. everything feels slow!"

I run mine on tesco 99 now. Did run it on v-power until they upped and left the area.
I had mine mapped to run on v-power, but there is no difference in my opinion between 99 and v-power, but I have had to stick the odd £10 of 95 Ron in the tank and can notice straight away massive change in power.
It does sound as if it's not been set up correctly cos I can't fault Revo best money I have spent. .
It's a shame where you got it mapped they didn't have a Rolling road, instead of them tearing up and down the road and telling you it's a lot faster.

Hold fire before you go doing your vpower trial mate.

I remember a thread on here a few months back about the different premium fuels. Can't seem to find it at the moment.

It had all sorts of graphs and table within the thread from other websites showing tests on all the different fuels.

And wait for it. Tesco momentum actually came out on top! But the difference between momentum and vpower (both a cut above the rest) was indeed negligible. But like I said, momentum the tiniest bit better!

I'm gonna go thread hunting for you, see if I can dig it out. Unless someone else knows the one I'm talking about and can find it

(come to think of it, may of even been in the mk1 section)

Ok time to eat my words :censored:

Found the website that the data was on and found this on there tuning page

Thorney Motorsport Withdraws Recommendation for Tesco Momentum Fuel
Thorney Motorsport no longer endorses Tesco Momentum 99 fuel nor recommends its use by its customers.

Not sure why. Doesn't elaborate on this statement. Sorry man!

Sounds like they won't elaborate on it as they have nothing to back it up with.

My FR is set up @ 659. Usually use VPower, occasionally BP Ultimate, but you should 100% feel the difference.

RR before after is a must with a remap such as this.

That doesnt mean anything, my in-laws bought a Bora which was registered to a VW dealer before they bought it and it turned out it was a press car which had been remapped to make it look better than it was. They didn't find this out until the father-in-law went to get it mapped at the same mapper who mapped it for VW and had a poster with his exact car on the wall of his reception area! Ah good point. That's probably it ^

The moral of this drawn out reply is stick with momentum :D there's info out there somewhere for reasons why

My old Suzuki Swift Sport was much happier on VPower than it was on Tesco 99. That never made much sense at the time.

Using Sainsburys 97 in the Leon right now... Should I feel guilty?
