Number Plate Screw Covers

Evening all. I've just purchased a brand new Ibiza FR, but unlike my previous 2 Seat's, both the front and rear number plates do not have any screw covers over the attaching screw holes.

I called Into my local Seat dealer earlier today and was told that number plate screw covers are no longer supplied from the manufacturer, and that the screws and surrounding fitment comes supplied as one unit.

So I was just wondering If anybody could recommend any push on covers that would cover up the screw holes and would therefore stop the number plate screws from going rusty in the near future.

You can get them in Halfords and Amazon etc, try to get some that are slightly domed, or you may find you need to replace the screws with ones with a flat top, to get it to clip into place. OR asked you Dealer for a new un drilled set and stick them on.

I’d just get new plates and sticky pads, makes a car look brand new

Thanks for the replies lads. I ended up buying a cheap set of screws and caps from Amazon at a cost of only £3.45 including postage.

Even so, I think that the plates look better already.

Yes, the number plate screw caps are as cheap as chips.

With the fixing screw on the yellow background section of the rear number plate, I would have used a yellow cap on the rear one to satisfy my OCD .

The yellow ones that came with the pack were a completely different shade of yellow than the back number plate was.They were a very pale shade of yellow indeed. So I fitted the black coloured caps instead and in my opinion thay looked much better.

I always swop over the fixing screws for stainless steel ones, and make sure that they are covered in suitable colour plastic trims.

One error I made years ago was buying a pack of BLUE number plate screw covers - Brexit means most of them will not get used!
