On a similar note, has anyone with a mk2 thought of doing the same as above? Putting the number plate on one side? like the new evo?
Thanks

 No - that looks as bad as the square plate above. Square and offset is the worst, especially if its on the drivers side to make it "individual" or different from an Evo which its clearly trying to copy.

How do, I've just bought the BTCC front bumper for my candy white 08 FR. I'm looking at getting the square reg plate has I have a 6 digit reg plate and thought that it would look quite good to have 3 digits per row.

I thought they might be the same size as the rear reg on a motorbike? Please can you guys give me some idea of dimensions? or a site which I could buy them off? I would prefer them to be a little smaller though.

A plate with 64mm high characters will be illegal on a UK car....only legal on an imported car where there is insufficient space to mount a UK sized plate. If you go smaller than a motorbike sized plate you're even more likely to finish up with a £30 fine.

There is no actual law on the size of the plate it is all to do with the size and spacing of the characters and the font. The font has to be 'Charles Whitworth' and the characters have to be 79 by 50 mm and the gap inbetween the groups of letters/numbers has to be a certain size but I can't remember that. It also has to show the postcode and BS mark. The latter two aren't really an issue as long as the size and spacing is legal. The fine now is £60 and an automatic report to the DVLA. If the DVLA are informed on I think 3 occasions then they will look to revoke the plate
