I was originally thinking of drilling them and securing them using the same screws as my old ones.. but now I'm thinking a surround like this may be better?
Yeah I tend to agree with you, the more simple the better, hence I purchased the pressed plates without a black rim on them.
I was provided with double sided foam tape to put them on but thats not really secure in my opinion, and drilling into them could possibly cause rust after a period of time...
if they are alloy plates, they wont rust so should be ok to drill. Just make sure you use masking tape where you will drill through incase you slip and scratch the new metal plate! (you prob already would do this but just incase )
