Hi guys,

My 64 plate cupra is just under a year old. I had a message on my dash flash up saying oil change service in 29 days, which is fine. It's 11 months old and done about 7500 miles. I contacted my SEAT dealer and they said this means my car is set to a 12 month / 10,000 mile service plan and it therefor means i'm due a full inspection service at £179.

However my car manual says Long Life service at 18,000 Miles or 2 years. I have gone into the car menu into 'Service setup' and it says the following:

Inspection service in 12,500 mile / 374 days
Oil change service in 1900 miles / 28 days

I told this to the SEAT dealer and they are saying that this just means my 1st initial service is in 28 days and then the 2nd service is due in a additional 12,500 miles or 374 days.

This seems super fishy to me and it feels like they are just trying to get a full service out of me as there is more money in it for them. Can you please advise ?

The second oil change will probably come in at approximately the same time as the Inspection Service - think of it as a "Minor" (due now - oil only) and a "Major" (due in just over a year which will be an oil + inspection service at about the same time) instead.

Long Life (upto every 18500 miles or so) can be selected on PDI (delivery) but based on your mileage (and most PCP deals), it sounds like it's on the right service plan (every 12 months or so).

I've had VAG cars on long life servicing but I'm doing 30k+ a year.
