Oil in the expansion tank

Hi,

Last week one morning when I started up the car, the temperature gauge warning light started flashing a bleeping. I thought I'm loosing coolant again what was fixed by some coolant leak stop powder over the winter.
When I looked in to the expansion tank, got shocked, the coolant was black instead of pink. And I've lost oil as well. Great, my head gasket gone I thought. So I took it to a garage in Bristol and they said it could be the oil cooler OR the gasket. I went for the oil cooler change which was the cheapest option. Car is done, took her home cost me £220 and today found oil in the tank again...
They said the system been flushed 3-4 times, no sign of oil change(no charge for it either) and the coolant topped up.
Sorry for the long story I'm just curious what do you think, because if the gasket has gone there's should be coolant in the oil,I guess, but there isn't.
Please help me.
Thanks

could be headgasket!
oil pressure of engine is greater than coolant pressure so if the gasket is gone on one of the feed drillings it will force oil into the coolant
also it could be a cracked head?

Thanks for the replies.
Now I can say that the oil cooler replace didn`t help. Im still getting oil in the coolant after a long trip, but instead of all mixed up, the oil just sits on top of the coolant (may takes time to get mixed up)
Would there be any sign of smoke or steam it this case?

Took it back to the garage. They said the amount of oil on top isn`t much so I should keep flush the tank. is there a quicker way to get rid of the oil from the system? Any detergent or something?
