took the intercoolers off and cleaned them out with some jizer (lol) degreaser, because they were coated with oil inside and out. noticed this because there was LOTS of dried oil coating them on the outside, noticible mostly on the left intercooler from the engine bay. oil was also inside the boost pipes and metal pipe connecting the intercoolers together underneath the car. Oil was also in the throttle body (took that off to clean it).
so, is there meant to be oil coating anywhere on/inside the interoolers, pipes and throttle body?? or is there something wrong?? oil wasn't pouring out of it, but there was a lot of it dried on and coating it on the top bit. the outside of the fins themselves werent too bad though. there aren't any codes showing in vagcom, and oil consumption over the past 5-6k miles hasn't dropped too much.
It seems to drive pretty well though, much better after the various bits of cleaning I’ve done to it.
Sorry for the essay, just concerned as to whether something like the turbo’s going to screw up.
pictures are of the throttle body and pipe connecting to one of the intercoolers
