Oil question and B pillar noise

Hi,

Just been on the hunt for some oil and eventually got some. Just want to check that I got the right stuff, Castrol Edge 5w30 VW507.00, thats what the manual says.
Also my car is going back to the dealers on Tuesday, I've had a rattle in the drivers B pillar for a couple of month and today it's turned into a squeal/scratching noise over bumps and round round abouts, all I can think is that it's the seatbelt mechanism even though it seems to work fine and doesn't make the noise if I pull it.

Have you been able to fix the rattle?

Mine is randomly doing something similar....

Hi there,

Yeah it went in a while back, took them about 5 hours, was something to do with the seatbelt mechanism, not had the problem since. All I have now is a car that won't start after it's been left standing for 15-30mins, it's going in on Monday for it's first service and to get that sorted.

If someone could instruct me on how to open that section of the pillar...

I would check it for myself...

Normally the garage guys don't seem to be so cautious since its not their car...

But thanks for directing on what the noise is about! Tomorrow i'll give it a look, and if you don't mind i'll update on your thread.
