So got up this morning thought I would do my weekly checks on car coolant tire pressure oil etc etc... oil was just above bottom marker on dipstick so filled up about 250ml and it's just over half way left it at that for now.
Now for the awesome part upon pulling the dipstick out the second time a little bit of the plastic yellow from the dipstick not the tube snapped off about half of the yellow dipstick bit now I managed to get the big piece out but im a little dubious as to whether a small piece has dropped down into the sump. Now I know that there are a few filters that will stop it getting through to the engine however will it cause any damage? The pick up pipe was replaced 3 months ago and had 0 blockage when changed (only changed because I had the part and mechanic had already dropped the sump to check...
Anyway my question is do I pay my mechanic to drop the sump for me and clear out the oil and pick up pipe to make sure or will it be alright having no prior blockage and the fact that it will only be a small bit down there if even that?
Thanks in advance
