Oily smear on inside of windscreen

Looking for a few pointers on this to see what I can do and if others have had this.
Over time I get a slight oily smear build up on the inside of my windscreen and occasionally have a slight oily smell when the heater blower/ a/c is on.
I assume I'm sucking some oil vapour in from the engine bay somehow. I've read some posts where people have suggested blocked breathers - this may be a daft question for some but where do I find the breathers to check?
It's a 2004 LCR.

Would it maybe be building up in the pollen filter??

Thanks for the advice. It's due it's annual service in March so the pollen filter will get changed then I assume.

Pollen filter is not in the annual service ............ costs about £ 10 online , or tell your garage to add it onto service.

Most likely you have just been following another vehicle chucking out oil from the exhaust.

Oh ........ ya mum says stop leaving oily chip wrappers on the dash !
