THis is probably a daft question but how does the CD/Radio come out?

Is this a whole console thingy or....just let me know

Only need to get to the plugs at the back of the std stereo......

Stick DIN removal tools into the little slots at the bottom of the radio at each side and it will unclip and u can pull it out. Been covered loads of times.

Can use cable ties or thin bits of plastic if you have patience

get some vw radio release keys.. last time i went they gave me them for free... but i lost them so i ask my mate who has alot of different types and gets itout in 10 secs....you have to push them in then slide outwards...

I watched one of the techs at the local dealer do it with cable ties.

Put the cable tie at the left side of the left hole and the right side of the right hole and push in, it should pull the tabs in and release the stereo. You may have to pull out the panel underneath so you can get your hand at the back of it to lever it out. If it doesn't come out easily, it isn't released properly.

yep old credit card cut up into the holes, card. Anything pretty easy to get out really

Thinking of fitting a Parrott Handsfree you see

Get the stereo out, the single slot cage beneath will slide out then you have a double-din slot to fiddle around in, plenty of room.

I was thinking of the placement of the button bit...would seem to go best at top of console between the two vents
