Well having digested the Forum rules and giving myself a headache , what more can I say. I have a Mk2 Seat Toledo 1.9 SE bought from new. Very pleased with the car and have travelled all over europe in her as well as many excursions in the UK I am married with no kids and now am semi retired so I have the best of both worlds.
I still possess a good sense of humour and enjoy a good joke ( both PC and non PC )
Have other cars as well as the Tolly
Do a lot of DIY both in the house and on the cars.
Wife is still working so being a house husband has it's appeal.
Need to lose a bit of weight so go dancing ( ballroom and Latin) as well as the local gym where I go in feeling fine and come out broken.......... must be doing something wrong.
Won't bore you with anything else as she who is obeyed says I do prattle on.
Regards.

Hey Old Bloke

The Old Codger here, not quite your vintage but just turned 56 and drive a Mk2 Cupra R. Us oldies still need to have fun as some things are now beyond us or becoming more of a chore. So sitting behind the wheel and giving it some still makes me smile

Well done 'Old Codger' Fortunately I have got all the speed demons out of my system as I used to do Hillclimb and sprint in my Sunbeam Imp Sport until recently. However before the young uns start on about age I will still give them a blat around any circuit they mention as my 'bottle factor' will be far and away above their's. if they rattle on about us 'old git's ' being past it. Old maybe...........PAST IT..... Not yet.

Competed on the Isle of Man when they ran the 'Three Hills' now that was something as, with the two wheelers you competed on some of the TT circuit which was a blast. They would'nt allow us to go around the whole thing which was a bit of a let down but hey ho. Did many of the Hillclimbs and sprints on UK mainland too, won a few trophies which was icing on the cake. There is a Hillclimb in Italy which I believe is in excess of 16Km long running through a load of villages. The competitors do the run with the spectators going up by bus beforehand and stopping at vantage points. After the run everyone ends up in a big bash at a chosen venue which seems very laudable to me...does'nt matter if you can't speak the lingo at the start as you seem to get the hang of it the more vino you drink.

That sounds like my type of wkend, bit of competition followed by a few sociable shandies.
That's what I miss about the racing, the camaraderie.
Any pics of you competing?
