Hello Seatcupra!

I've floated around the forums for a little while now and thought I've put enough tacky parts on my car to warrant starting a readers ride to inspire others to super-tack their cars too.

Bought my Ibiza early on in the year, it's my first car and as such could only grab a 1.4 petrol; but for now that'll do! Seemed like a cracking deal with only 55k on the clock and Full Service History.

Took it for it's MOT a few weeks ago and passed with no advisories, even with Fly-Eye on the rear lights and LED sidelights fitted.

I've had a couple of problems since purchasing but so far I've managed to fix most of them:

2x Blown Ignition Coil (Replaced), third on it's way out I think!
Leaking Fan Temp Switch (replaced fan switch, fingers crossed all good so far).
Blown sidelight (Replaced).
ABS light lit up on Dashboard (Blown fuse, replaced with spare - all good now.)

But now onto some pictures! The mighty steed was stock standard when I bought it which gave me a clean slate to work from :)

I apologise in advance if the photos are a bit iffy, iPhone 4 can only do so much!

AFTER:

First off was the horrid sticker off the rear window, replaced it with a SeatCupra sticker.

Next was Honeycomb FR upper grilles (will be buying the lowers soon; just need to source a cheap set!) and a cheeky wash!

Now I've added some Fly-Eye kit to the rear lights to darken them out (Wayyyyyy too red before) and also brightened up the car with some ORANGE! I have since removed the orange surround under the radio because I thought it was a bit too much.

Also swapped out the standard lights for these LED ones. Pictures from when my second ignition coil went bang in the pouring rain, fortunately I had kept a spare in the boot!

And customary pet photo.

I'll be adding more stuff as it comes along (keep your eyes peeled for more orange stuff! See what I did there..?), usually every month when I get paid ;)

Let me know what you think!

Looking good! How did you colour the front and rear badges?

Cheers :) I took the badges out of the boot/grille and then used some orange Plasti-Dip on them so that I could reverse the process if I didn't like it.

I Recommend painting instead of Plasti-Dip; the stuff is pretty easy to use but when on the outside of the car it doesn't seem to like the elements and now looks tacky. The plasti-dip in the interior still looks ace though.

Update:

After getting fed up of the lack of light in the footwells I decided to give the LED lighting a crack, after a lot of swearing I finally got it all wired up to the interior light and think it looks cracking!

I've also bought a debadged grille from fleabay and painted the trim around it orange. Used the leftover paint I had from doing my callipers orange the other week.

So this is how she stands now:

About to order the following bits and pieces to improve the overall image:

- Polo Rear Wiper
- LED Reverse Bulb (Too many near misses because the current one is pants!)
- LED interior lights

I'm tempted to go for some pre-facelift FR lower grilles as well but not sure I can justify £50 at the moment as I have to book her in for a timing belt and water pump change soon :/

Caved in and ordered the Fr Grilles from Dave @ Sere, can't believe the difference they make. It's not quite as swish as a facelift front end but at a fraction of the cost I can't moan!

Fark!

Needed to replace the engine coolant temp sensor, so got the new one in one hand, ready to quickly pull the old one out and push the new one in before I lost a sizeable amount of coolant.

What did I do as soon as I pulled the old one out? I dropped the new one straight into the depths of the engine bay. Cue lots of swearing and coolant gushing out everywhere. Lesson learnt I think!
