So my Altea 1.6 petrol 57 plate has begun idling a bit rough and doing that "hunting" thing where it will idle fine then start revving before falling off and occasionally stalling. There is no appreciable loss of power or fuel economy and it runs fine when driving.
I've got no MAF sensor, only a MAP and I've got error codes P0171 (System Lean Bank 1) and 0106 (MAP System Performance) so I am assuming the MAP is on its way out? My understanding is they are essentially just a pressure sensor so you can't take them out and clean them like a MAF, but before replacing it I was wondering if there's any way to confirm it is the MAP?
