Some people would say yes but imo it doesnt.

My rocker cover has been sprayed using normal spray paint and 7 months down the line it still looks perfect

Inlet manifold wont get as hot as the rocker cover either so imo normal paint would be fine

Rocker cover is a proper rubber gasket and ive had mine off twice now and used the original without problems

For piece of mind though it might be worth getting one 'just' in case

Im guessing an inlet will have a gasket too so might be worth getting one of those too

I used the hammerrite as its designed to be a metal paint, also my inlet doesn't get hot now due to my phenolic gasket ;)

I cant wait to do this what new gaskets do i need

You will need the inlet gasket and also if you remove the trottle body like i did you will also need that gasket.

speak to sere motors on here, I got my throttle body gasket for £2 posted and turned up stupidly fast!

what needs to be done to the throttle body if its been removed, as ive sent my inlet manifold and rocker cover of to be pollished up which i bought seperate so my car can still be used. cheers:)

I think you need to get the TB re-aligned via vag.com
Kyle have you sprayed your rocker cover black to?

I havn't yet, I plan to get a spare and spare that and swap them over.

I left my TB plugged in so didn't need to reset it.

Also my gasket was so expensive because its designed to keep the inlet temperature down (which is does)(significantly)
