Paintwork quality

Hi,

I have a month old black magic coloured Ibiza and as with all new cars birds seem to love leaving deposits on it. Is it right that a 'splat' removed hours after its deposited leaves the paintwork 'matt'. I can't even polish the mark out. I certainly did not have the same problem with my 2006 Leon, which was the same colour. Surely paintwork has to be able to withstand things like this without permanent damage?

At this rate my car will be ruined in weeks!!

Is all of the paintwork like this or just one area, could be that the car has had some sort of body repair that you were not told about...................

Modern paint isn't half as hard-wearing as the older stuff, if it's really bad a paintwork correction could be in order.

if it's matting the paint it would suggest that there's no lacquer overcoat applied?

Take it into the dealer and see what they say about the situation. Could re touch it up for you, i had a brush in my paintwork and they removed it for me no problems.
