Panels?

Hey!

Basically someone has crashed into my car and im in need of a door drivers door and rear panel. I just wondered if the door and rear panel on a 1.4 chill are the same as the cupra? Going to phone scrap yards 2moro so just want to know where i stand etc..

Yes. dont think quarter panels replace able, it may need pulling out only body work could do it, how bad is it?

A good body shop should be able to get all of that out, but you'll be looking around the £650 mark

looks like the metal has been stretched a bit so thats gona increase the price, im sure its fixable but at a nasty cost I can imagine.

Some pulling out, panel beating and some filler should sort it out
Its a good thing it not damage lower down as grove in panel dosnt come out right with most body shop.
Replace the door and then get panel repaired so they blend it evenly

thats a difficult one to fix. it has stretched the metal on the rear. its gona be expencive to fix that, make sure the body shop dont just fill it in with filler otherwise in a year o so it will look crap again, needs a good panel beater to sort that out

any part of the panelwork is replaceable just a case of wether it's cost effective labour wise for most insurance companies

if it's their fault just stand ya ground on repair as they always try and wangle out of it the cheapest way

if they sort out a local repair and state it's to be a rear 1/4 then mark it inside or make a few 'visits ' whilst repair is ongoing as i know many a bodyshop round here would charge for it and filler that

ah...i see what your saying there and with the diagram fl@pper. Its just when you look at the rear 1/4 pannel it looks like its joined with no seam so all looks as one piece...

Try more around the £1,500 - £2000 mark mate

Going through the insurance now so il lose 2 years no claims but im getting brand new door and rear quater so its going to be done properly etc. Still been a right chew on though

chopped up and seams hidden all over nothing a welder and a big hammer couldn't fix

not a cheap repair though because of the work involved mind
