I have the tilt and slide panoramic sunroof on my car. In the tilt position it has pretty much always rattled however what I am now finding is a really annoying rattle when it is completely closed. If I open it (in tilt position) and close it again the noise disappears for a period of time but then comes back. Is there something obviously loose or is it simply a case of cleaning and lubricating the rubbers

I also have a panorama, and I also have the same problem. Anyway, many panorama users in the VAG group have the same symptoms. Cleaning and lubrication only slightly masks the problem. In general, there are clearances in the mechanics. In my case it is the rear left guide handle. Unfortunately it is under the gasket and getting to it is difficult. I temporarily glued a 2mm high strip of silicone rubber around the perimeter of the inner seal, which made the whole moving part slightly tighter to the seal when closing. This has solved the problem for now.

It would appear my noise is coming from the gap between the roof and the central rubber strip when it sits in its closed position. I have also put some further rubber on this which has cured the noise for now

I have a rattle too, especially when the roof is just tilted. The rattle is mostly noticeable on rough roads, and unfortunately, I have plenty of those where I live. When it's fully closed, there's less/muffled rattle, and when I open it all the way, it seems fine.

The problem is in the mechanism under the glass......i had the problem for a good few months and after Seat telling me I needed a brand new roof lol I googled a video on how to remove the glass (really easy) and then had a friend track it down while i was driving and it was just some movement in the surrounding frame itself......just trimmed some window packers down and wedged it in to take up the play and Bingo.....its sounds difficult but it really isn't.
